Virus ProtectionThis is a featured page

Definition:

  • virus protection guards a computer from being attacked by a virus
  • virus: A virus is a small piece of software that piggybacks on real programs. For example, a virus might attach itself to a program such as a spreadsheet program. Each time the spreadsheet program runs, the virus runs, too, and it has the chance to reproduce (by attaching to other programs) or wreak havoc.
  • protection: a defense or guard from attack
  • This is very important for companies because if a virus enters one computer on a company network, it could easily spread to every computer on the network. For global companies like N&Q Investments, viruses are even more dangerous. This makes finding and using good virus protection VERY important.
